Ingredients list for Spicy Lamb Chops
- 500 grams Lamb chops (chaampan) single cut
- for garnishing Red chilli flakes 1 teaspoon +
- 1 teaspoon Paprika powder
- 3 tablespoons Soy sauce
- 1 Egg
- 2 tablespoons Refined flour (maida)
- for shallow frying Oil 1 teaspoon +
- 1 tablespoon Garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon Ginger grated
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar/jaggery
- 2 tablespoons Rice wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Mustard paste
- 1 teaspoon Five spice powder
- to taste Salt
Method
- Boil 4-5 cups water in a deep non-stick pan. Add lamb chops, cover and boil on low heat for 10 minutes. Remove from heat, strain and pat them dry with a kitchen towel. Place them on a plate.
- Rub 1 teaspoon soy sauce on the chops. Break egg on them and mix well. Add refined flour and coat well.
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Place lamb chops in it and shallow-fry till the chops are fully done and crispy.
- Heat 1 teaspoon oil in another non-stick wok. Add garlic and sauté.
- Add ginger, brown sugar, rice vinegar and remaining soy sauce, mix well and cook till the sugar melts.
- Reduce heat and add mustard paste, paprika powder, red chilli flakes and five spice powder. Mix well and adjust salt.
- Add fried lamb chops and toss so that the sauce coats the chops completely. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Serve hot garnished with red chilli flakes.
