Ingredients list for Southern Style Chicken Drumsticks
- 8 Chicken drumsticks
- ½ cup Tomato ketchup
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 inch Ginger grated
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar/jaggery
- 1 tablespoon Garlic chopped
- 1 medium Onion finely chopped
- to taste Salt
- for greasing Oil
- Sauce
- 2-3 tablespoons Tomato ketchup
- 2 teaspoons Cider vinegar
- ½ teaspoon brown sugar/jaggery
- ½ teaspoon Red chilli flakes
- 1-2 Birds eye chillies chopped
- 1 teaspoon Fresh parsley chopped
Method
- Take chicken drumsticks in a bowl. Add tomato ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, ginger, brown sugar, garlic and onion and mix well. Add salt and mix. Set aside to marinate for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to180° C. Grease a baking tray with some oil.
- Place the marinated chicken on it and apply the leftover marinade on the pieces. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes.
- To make the sauce, take tomato ketchup, cider vinegar, brown sugar, chilli flakes, bird’s eye chillies and parsley in a bowl and mix well.
- Drizzle the sauce on the baked chicken drumsticks, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
