Ingredients list for Simple Palak Dal

  • 2 cups Spinach leaves (palak) shredded
  • 2 cups Split green gram skinless (dhuli moong dal) pressure cooked with a pinch of turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • a pinch Asafoetida
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Green chillies chopped
  • to taste Salt

Method

  1. Heat ghee in a deep non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida and sauté till fragrant. Add garlic and green chillies and sauté for a minute.
  2. Add split green gram and mix well. Add salt and some water, mix and bring to boil.
  3. Add spinach, mix and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Serve hot.
