Ingredients list for Shimla Mirch ka Achar

  • 2 medium Green Capsicums cut into small pieces
  • 20 Dry Red Chillies stemmed
  • 2 tablespoons Mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander leaves
  • 1 tablespoons Cumin seeds
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 2 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 teaspoons Lemon juice
  • to taste Salt


  1. Grind together red chillies, one teaspoon mustard seeds, coriander seeds and cumin seeds with water to a fine paste.
  2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add ginger-garlic paste and and remaining mustard seeds and saute for a minute.
  3. Add the ground paste and saute for two minutes. Add capsicum, lemon juice and salt and cook for five to ten minutes or till capsicum gets cooked. Serve.
