Ingredients list for Shakarkandi Chaat - SK Khazana

  • 2 Medium sweet potatoes (shakarkand) peeled and cut into cubes
  • 1 Large potato peeled and cut into cubes
  • to deep fry Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Sweet date-tamarind chutney
  • 1 tablespoon Green chutney
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Chaat masala
  • 1 teaspoon Roasted cumin powder
  • 1-2 Green chillies finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 1 tablespo for garnish Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped
  • for garnish Fresh pomegranate pearls
  • for garnish Ginger strips


  1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, slide in the potato cubes and deep-fry till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.
  2. Deep-fry sweet potato cubes in the same oil till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.
  3. Put fried potatoes and sweet potato cubes in a bowl. Add date-tamarind chutney, green chutney and mix. Add chilli powder, chaat masala, cumin powder, green chillies, lemon juice and coriander leaves and mix well.
  4. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander leaves, pomegranate pearls and ginger strips and serve immediately.
