Ingredients list for Prawn Popcorn
- 1 cup Prawns (medium) shelled and deveined
- for deep-frying Oil
- 8-9 Garlic cloves
- 1 inch Ginger
- 1 Egg
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli flakes
- to taste Black pepper powder
- 1 teaspoon Light soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon Vinegar
- Juice of ½ lemon
- to taste Salt
- 1 stalk Spring onion greens diagonally sliced
- 2-3 tablespoons Cornstarch
Method
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
- Blend together garlic cloves, ginger, prawns, egg white, chilli flakes, salt, pepper powder, soy sauce, vinegar and lemon juice into a paste. Transfer in a bowl.
- Add spring onion greens and cornstarch and mix well.
- Drop small portions of prawn mixture in hot oil and deep-fry till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
