Ingredients list for Pear Chutney - SK Khazana

  • 2 Medium USA Pears
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 inch Ginger
  • 1 Star anise
  • 1 icnh Cinnamon
  • 5-6 tablespoons Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Raisins

Method

  1. Core and chop USA Pears into medium sized pieces.
  2. Heat a non-stick pan and add pears and salt. Slice ginger and add to the pan and mix. Add star anise, broken cinnamon and sugar, mix and cook till the sugar melts and pears become soft.
  3. Add chilli powder and mix well.
  4. Coarsely blend the pears mixture with an electric hand blender, avoiding the cinnamon and star anise. Cook the mixture till it softens further.
  5. Add lemon juice and mix. Add raisins, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes or till mixture thickens. Remove from heat and cool.
  6. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve with bread sticks or chips or spread on bread slices. You can store it in a sterilized jar.
