Ingredients
- 1 cup split green gram skinless (dhuli moong dal) ,steamed
- 1/2 cucumber,grated
- 1/2 carrot,peeled and grated
- 1/2 cup grated raw mango
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
- 1/2 cup grated fresh coconut
- 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 6-8 curry leaves
- 2 green chillies,chopped
- A pinch Asafoetida
Method
- Mix together moong dal, cucumber, carrot, raw mango and coriander leaves in a bowl. Add coconut, lemon juice and salt and mix well.
- Heat oil in a small pan, add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add curry leaves, green chillies and asafoetida.
- Add this tempering to the dal mixture and mix well. Chill in the refrigerator before serving.
