Palak Sabz

Spinach leaves cooked with onion, tomatoes, green chillies and basic Indian spices. Simple but delicious. This is Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe.

Ingredients 

  • 1 bunch spinach leaves (palak), chopped
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 3 medium onions, chopped
  • 3 green chillies, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non stick pan add onions and saute till light brown.
  2. Add green chillies, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute. Add tomatoes and saute till oil sufaces. Add spinach leaves, salt and cook till spinach is tender. Serve hot with steamed rice.
