Ingredients list for Oats Kande Pohe
- 1 cup Oats
- 2 medium Onions finely chopped
- 1 1/2 cups Pressed rice (poha)
- 1 tablespoon Oil
- a pinch Asafoetida
- 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 12-15 Curry leaves
- 2 tablespoons Roasted peanuts
- 1 inch pie Ginger finely chopped
- 2 Green chillies finely chopped
- 2 medium Potatoes boiled peeled and cut into 1 inch cubes
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon Green peas
- 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
- to taste Salt
- Juice of ½ lemon
- 1 tablespoon Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped
Method
- Soak poha in a bowl for 2-3 minutes or till soft. Add the oats and strain the two.
- Heat oil in a non stick kadai. Add asafoetida, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves and peanuts and sauté for 1 minute.
- Add ginger and green chillies and sauté 1 minute.
- Add onions and potatoes and mix well and saute for 2 minutes.
- Add poha, oats, turmeric powder, green peas, sugar, salt, lemon juice, coriander leaves and mix well.
- Let it heat through. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
