Ingredients list for Naikulu
- 1 1/2 cups Basmati rice
- 1/2 cup Ghee
- 1 inch piece Cinnamon
- 4 Cloves
- 6 Green cardamoms
- 2 medium Onions,sliced
- 10-12 cloves Garlic,sliced
- 1/4 cup Cashewnuts
- 1/4 cup Raisins
- to taste Salt
- 2 teaspoon Sugar
Method
- Soak rice in three cups of water for twenty minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Heat ghee in a pan, add cinnamon, cloves and green cardamoms and sauté on medium heat.
- Add onions and garlic and sauté for another two minutes. Add cashewnuts and raisins and sauté for another minute.
- Add drained rice and mix well. Add salt and sugar and three cups of water.
- Cover and cook till the rice is done. Serve as an accompaniment with any curry.
