Ingredients list for Mutton Stew with Garlic Bread-SK Khazana

  • 750 grams Mutton cut into 1 inch pieces on the bone
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • 5-6 Black peppercorns
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic finely chopped
  • 2 Medium onions thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Refined flour (maida)
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black peppercorns crushed
  • 1 Large potato peeled and cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 3 cups Mutton stock
  • Garlic bread
  • 1 Baguette
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Garlic finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli flakes
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Fresh parsley finely chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black peppercorns crushed


  1. To make garlic bread, preheat oven to 180º C. Slice baguette and set aside.
  2. Mix together butter, chilli flakes, garlic, parsley, salt and crushed peppercorns in a bowl.
  3. Spread garlic-herb butter generously on the baguette slices and arrange on a tray. Put the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 5-6 minutes.
  4. Heat butter and oil in a pressure cooker, add peppercorns, bay leaf and garlic, mix and sauté till garlic turns golden brown.
  5. Add onions, mix and sauté till translucent. Add mutton pieces, mix well and cook on high heat for 5-6 minutes.
  6. Add flour and mix well. Add salt, crushed peppercorns and potatoes mix well. Add stock, mix well, cover and cook under pressure till 6-7 whistles are released.
  7. Serve hot with garlic bread.
