Ingredients list for Mutton Assada
- 1 1/2 kilograms Mutton
- Green Chillies
- 5 Green chillies
- 1 inch piece Ginger
- 10-12 cloves Garlic
- 2 teaspoons Turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon Black pepper powder
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Vinegar
- 3 tablespoons Oil
- to taste Salt
- 2 medium Onions sliced
- 2 Whole dry red chilli
Method
- Clean and wash the mutton and cut into one and half inch pieces. Remove the stems and wash the green chillies.
- Peel and roughly chop ginger and garlic. Grind together green chillies, ginger, garlic, turmeric powder, pepper powder with vinegar.
- Prick the mutton pieces all over with a fork and rub the ground masala all over. Let it marinate for three hours. Heat oil and add sliced onions. Sauté till they are well browned.
- Add the mutton and continue to sauté till the mutton pieces are browned. Add red chillies, one cup of warm water and cover. Cook till the mutton is tender.
