By Sanjeev Kapoor 24 Jun 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Button mushrooms, Onion powder Cuisine Fusion, , , , Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 21-25 minutes Cook time 6-10 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Mushroom Popcorn 16-20 small Button mushrooms stemmed and quartered 1 teaspoon Onion powder to taste Salt a pinch Paprika to taste Crushed black peppercorns 2 teaspoons Ginger-garlic paste 2 teaspoons Lemon juice ½ cup Refined flour (maida) for deep-frying Oil 1 cup Bread crumbs panko Method Put mushrooms in a bowl. Add onion powder, salt, paprika, crushed peppercorns, ginger-garlic paste and lemon juice and mix well. Set aside to marinate for ten to fifteen minutes. Put half the flour in another bowl. Add salt and some water and whisk to make a thick slurry. Heat sufficient oil in a pan. Dust the marinated mushrooms with the remaining flour, dip in the slurry and coat with breadcrumbs. Deep-fry the mushroom popcorns in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
