Ingredients
- 25-30 button mushrooms thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup almonds blanched and slivered
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 garlic cloves chopped
- 1 small onion finely chopped
- Salt to taste
- A few sprigs of thyme
- Crushed black peppercorns to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil
Method
- Toast almonds in a non-stick pan till light brown. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Heat butter in the same non-stick pan. Add garlic and onions, mix and sauté till fragrant.
- Add mushrooms, salt, thyme and crushed peppercorns, mix well and cook till the mushrooms are fully cooked. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
- Blend almonds with oil to a paste. Add the cooked mushroom mixture and blend to a smooth paste.
- Serve with toast or crackers.
