Ingredients list for Matar Wale Chawal
- 1 cup Green peas (matar)
- 1 1/2 cups Basmati rice soaked for 30 minutes and drained
- 2 tablespoons Ghee
- 5-6 Black peppercorns
- 2 Green cardamoms
- 2 Cloves
- 2 Bay leaves
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Cumin seeds
- to taste Salt
Method
- Heat ghee in a deep non-stick pan, add black peppercorns, green cardamoms, cloves, bay leaves, cumin seeds, mix and saute till fragrant.
- Add rice and mix well. Add salt and 3 cups water, mix well and let the mixture come to a boil.
- Add green peas, mix well, cover and cook till rice is completely done.
- Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
