By Sanjeev Kapoor 06 Aug 2014 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Red Lentils, Basmati Rice Cuisine Maharashtrian Course Rice Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Masoor Bhaath 1/2 cup Red Lentils soaked 3 Basmati Rice 4-5 cloves Garlic 1 inch piece Ginger 3 tablespoons Oil 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds 2 medium Onions chopped 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder 2 tablespoons Garam masala powder to taste Salt 1 cup Basmati rice 2 tablespoons coriander leaves chopped Method Grind green chillies, garlic and ginger to make a fine paste. Heat the oil in a pressure cooker and add cumin seeds. When it starts spluttering add chopped onions and fry those till transculent. Add the green chilli-garlic paste and saute for two minutes.Add the masoor and saute for a minute. Add rice, turmeric powder, garam masala, salt and saute for a minute.
