Macaroni Upma A creative twist on traditional upma, made with macaroni instead of semolina, flavored with spices and herbs, and served hot. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe. By Sanjeev Kapoor 25 Mar 2021 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Macaroni pasta, Oil Cuisine Fusion Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 16-20 minutes Cook time 26-30 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients 2 cups macaroni pasta, boiled 1 tablespoon oil ½ teaspoon mustard seeds 1 teaspoon split skinless black gram (dhuli urad dal) 5-6 curry leaves A pinch of asafoetida 1 medium onion, finely chopped 1 medium tomato, finely chopped ¼ cup green peas, blanched 1 small green chilli, chopped 1 tablespoon freshly chopped coriander leaves + for garnish Salt to taste Method Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan, add mustard seeds and sauté till it splutters. Add urad dal, curry leaves, asafoetida and onion. Sauté till it turns golden brown. Add tomato and sauté till it turns pulpy. Add green peas and mix well. Add green chilli and sauté for a minute. Add macaroni pasta and sprinkle little water. Mix well. Add coriander and sprinkle some water. Mix well. Cover and cook on medium heat for 6-7 minutes or till cooked. Add salt and mix well.
