Ingredients list for Lilva Rice
- 1/4 cup Surti Papdi
- 1/4 cup Basmati Rice
- 1 1/2 cups Basmati rice soaked
- 1/2 inch piece Ginger roughly chopped
- 4 Green chillies
- 1/2 cup + to garnish Fresh coriander leaves chopped
- 1/2 tablespoon Lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons Ghee
- 1 inch stick Cinnamon
- 2 Cloves
- Salt
Method
- Grind ginger, green chillies, coriander leaves and lemon juice to a smooth paste.
- Heat ghee in a pan, add cinnamon, cloves and rice and sauté for two to three minutes.
- Add surti papdi and the papdi beans along with salt and mix.
- Add the ground paste diluted in half cup of water. Mix well.
- Add two and a half cups of water and mix.
- Once the mixture comes to a boil, reduce heat, cover and let it cook till done.
- Serve hot.
