Ingredients
- 3 cups puffed rice (kurmura)
- 3 tablespoons oil
- ½ cup raw peanuts with skin
- ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
- 2 green chillies
- 2 sprigs of curry leaves
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- ½ teaspoon powdered sugar
- ¼ cup roasted chana dal (daalia)
Method
- Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan and add peanuts. Sauté till golden brown on medium heat.
- Add mustard seeds, break and add green chillies, curry leaves and continue to sauté on low heat for 2-3 minutes. Add turmeric powder and salt. Mix well. Add powdered sugar, roasted chana dal and kurmura. Mix well. Cook on low heat for 5-6 minutes. Allow it to cool down.
- Transfer chiwda in an airtight glass jar.
