Ingredients list for Kaskal Cutlet

  • 2 Raw bananas boiled, peeled and mashed
  • 2 Medium potatoes boiled, peeled and mashed
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chaat masala
  • 1 teaspoon Green chillies chopped
  • 1 + to garnish Medium onion chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Breadcrumbs
  • to shallow fry Refined oil
  • to garnish Onion rings
  • to serve Tomato ketchup


  1. Take mashed green bananas in a mixing bowl, add potatoes, ginger, garam masala, cumin powder, salt, chaat masala, green chilli, onion, red chilli powder and breadcrumbs and mix well.
  2. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into round tikkis.
  3. Heat refined oil in a non-stick pan, place the tikkis in it and shallow-fry, on medium heat, turning sides till evenly golden brown on both sides. Drain on absorbent paper.
  4. Arrange the cutlets on a serving platter, garnish each cutlet with an onion ring and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
