Ingredients list for Kairi Poha
- 1 Raw mango
- 2 cups Pressed rice (poha) soaked and drained
- 2-3 tablespoons Oil
- 1 medium Onion
- a pinch Asafoetida
- 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 8-10 Curry leaves
- 1 tablespoon Raw peanuts
- 2 Green chillies slit
- 1 medium Potato boiled
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1/4 cup Green peas boiled
- Salt
- 2 teaspoons Sugar
- for garnish Fresh coriander sprigs
Method
- Heat oil in non stick pan. Roughly chop onion.
- Add asafoetida, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves and onion to the pan and sauté till the onion is well browned.
- Peel and roughly chop raw mango
- Add raw peanuts and green chillies to the pan. Roughly chop boiled potato and add alongwith turmeric powder and red chilli powder and mix well.
- Add green peas, raw mango, salt and sugar. Mix well and add poha. Sprinkle a little water and toss to mix.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes. Serve hot garnished with coriander sprig.
