Ingredients list for Kadai Prawns
- 20-25 Medium prawns peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons Kadai masala
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 2 Medium onion chopped
- 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
- 1 Large tomato chopped
- 1/2 cup Tomato puree
- to taste Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon Coriander powder
- 1/2 tablespoon Red chilli powder
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Cashewnut-melon seed paste
- 1/2 teaspoon Dried fenugreek leaves powder
- 1/2 Medium green capsicum cut into squares
- 1/2 Medium onion diced and layers separated
- 1 Medium tomato diced
- to garnish Fresh coriander leaves
Method
- Heat oil in a non-stick kadai, add onions and sauté till golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste, mix and sauté till raw smells disappear. Add chopped tomatoes and tomato puree, mix well and saute till the oil separates.
- Add salt, turmeric powder, cumin powder and red chilli powder, mix well and saute for 1 minute. Add 1 cup water, mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Add cashewnut-melon seed paste, mix well and cook for a minute. Add prawns, mix well and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add dried fenugreek leaves powder and mix well. Add capsicum, onion and tomato, and mix well. Add kadai masala, mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
