Well, don’t – it is a surprising source of vitamin C and provides useful amounts of starch, thiamine and niacin and around a hundred grams will provide about eighty calories.

Ingredients for Jamaican Jerk Potatoes-SK Khazana Recipe

  • Baby potatoes parboiled and peeled 20-24

  • Onion powder 1 teaspoon

  • Garlic powder 1 teaspoon

  • Nutmeg (jaiphal) powder 1 teaspoon

  • Cinnamon (dalchini) powder 1 teaspoon

  • All purpose seasoning 1 teaspoon

  • Dried oregano 1 teaspoon

  • Dried rosemary 1 teaspoon

  • Smoked paprika 1 tablespoon

  • Red chilli powder 1 tablespoon

  • Black peppercorns crushed to taste

  • Castor sugar 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Red chilli flakes 2 teaspoons

  • Oil 1 tablespoon

  • Fresh parsley chopped 2 teaspoons

  • Fresh parsley sprig for garnish


Step 1

Mix together onion powder, garlic powder, nutmeg powder, cinnamon powder, all-purpose seasoning, oregano, rosemary, paprika, chilli powder, crushed peppercorns, castor sugar, salt and chilli flakes in a bowl.

Step 2

Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add potatoes and toss.

Step 3

Add spice mix, toss and cook till potatoes are fully done. Add chopped parsley and mix well.

Step 4

Garnish with parsley sprig and serve hot.
