Ingredients list for Indian Fish Curry - SK Khazana
- 2 Medium pomfrets cut into darnes
- 2 tablespoons Onions finely chopped
- 4-5 Dried red chillies
- 1/2 cup Fresh coconut scraped
- to taste Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon Coconut oil
- 1/2 teaspoon Ginger chopped
- 1 tablespoon Tamarind pulp
- to garnish Fresh coriander sprig
Method
- Put 1 tbsp chopped onion, red chillies, coconut and a little water in a grinder jar and grind to a fine paste.
- Take fish darnes in a bowl, add salt and turmeric powder and mix well. Set aside to marinate for 10 minutes.
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add ginger and remaining onion, mix and sauté till golden brown.
- Add ground paste, mix well and saute for 1-2 minutes. Add 2 cups of water and mix well. Let the mixture come to a boil.
- Add tamarind pulp and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add the fish pieces and mix lightly. Cook for 5-6 minutes on medium heat.
- Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot.
