Ingredients list for GSB Prawn Curry with Drumsticks
- 1 cup Prawns (medium) shelled and deveined
- 2 Drumsticks cut into 2 inch pieces
- 1/2 cup Scraped coconut
- 4-5 Dried red chillies
- 1 tablespoon Tamarind pulp
- 4-5 Black peppercorns
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 medium Onion finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon Coriander seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon Raw rice
- 2 tablespoons Coconut oil
Method
- Take prawns in a bowl. Add salt and turmeric powder and keep aside to marinate for ten to fifteen minutes minutes.
- Grind coconut, chilies, tamarind paste, peppercorns, raw rice, half the chopped onions and coriander seeds and grind to a smooth paste.
- Heat 1 tablespoon coconut oil in a pan and add the remaining onion. Sauté till it turns dark brown in color.
- Add prawns and drumsticks, 1 cup water and cover and cook for five to seven minutes.
- Add ground masala, cook for three to four minutes. Drizzle the remaining coconut oil and cook for a minute.
- Serve hot.
