Ingredients list for Fried Tomatoes
- 3-4 Tomatoes cut into thick slices
- for deep-frying Oil
- 1 cup Rice flour
- 1/3 cup Cornstarch
- to taste Salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Onion powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
- to taste Crushed black peppercorns
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli flakes
- 1/2 cup Skimmed milk yogurt
- 1 cup Bread crumbs
Method
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
- Combine rice flour, cornstarch, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, crushed peppercorns, red chilli flakes in a bowl and mix well.
- Take yogurt in another bowl. Add rice flour mixture and whisk well into a smooth and lump-free batter. Add water if required.
- Spread breadcrumbs on a plate.
- Dip tomato slices one by one in the batter and coat evenly. Dust in the breadcrumbs and deep-fry in the hot oil till golden. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Serve hot.
