Why is it that when you are stuck at “what should we cook today” the answer is always “make some aloo!” Potatoes are like this…extremely popular and have multipurpose usage.

And did you always think that eating a potato will make you fat?
Well, don’t – it is a surprising source of vitamin C and provides useful amounts of starch, thiamine and niacin and around a hundred grams will provide about eighty calories.

Ingredients for Farali Missal Recipe

  • Potatoes boiled and peeled 4 medium

  • Roasted peanuts powder ½ cup

  • Ghee 1 tablespoon

  • Ginger chopped 1 teaspoon

  • Green chillies chopped 1 teaspoon

  • Raw peanuts ½ cup

  • Salt to taste

  • Sugar ½

  • Farali Chiwda ½ cup For topping


Step 1

Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add ginger and green chillies and sauté till fragrant.

Step 2

Cut boiled potatoes into large cubes.

Step 3

Add boiled peanuts to the pan, mix and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add cubed potatoes, mix and cook on medium heat for 4-5 minutes.

Step 4

Add peanut powder, mix and lightly mash the potatoes. Add some water and mix well. Add salt and sugar, mix and cook on medium heat for 5-6 minutes.

Step 5

Serve hot topped with farali chivda.
