Ingredients
- 1 cup chickpeas, soaked overnight
- 5 -6 garlic cloves
- 1 large onion, cut into quarters
- ¼ cup fresh coriander, chopped
- ¼ cup fresh parsley chopped
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon cumin powder
- 1 tablespoon red chilli powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- Salt to taste
Method
- Take a food processor. Add chickpeas. Add garlic, onion, fresh coriander, parsley, olive oil, cumin powder, red chilli powder, black pepper powder, baking soda and salt. Blend to a coarse mixture.
- Transfer the mixture into a large bowl. Shape the falafel mixture into medium sized balls and deep fry in hot oil till golden brown and crisp.
- Drain on absorbent paper.
- Serve hot with tomato ketchup and green chutney.
