You should always stack your fridge with at least a dozen of them. Why? Handiest food to have around! Kids are hungry? Make some egg sandwiches. Guests come in, make an egg curry or egg biryani. You are hungry? Poach an egg and have it topped with stir fried veggies – perfect protein source for the body! Check the freshness – keep a raw egg in a bowl of water. Fresh eggs will stay at the bottom while stale eggs stand on end or float.

Ingredients for Eggs Kejriwal Recipe

  • Eggs 4

  • White bread slices 4

  • Butter as required

  • Onion chopped as required

  • Green chillies as required

  • Fresh coriander leaves as required

  • Cheese slices 4

  • Oil for drizzling

  • Salt to taste

  • Black pepper powder to taste

  • Tomato ketchup to serve


Step 1

Heat a non-stick tawa. For each portion, apply butter on one side of a slice of bread and place it on the tawa, apply butter on the other side too. Sprinkle onion, green chillies and coriander leaves over the slice and place a cheese slice on top. Cover and cook till cheese melts. Take it off the tawa and keep it on a serving plate.

Step 2

Place a medium sized cookie cutter on the same tawa, drizzle a little oil and break an egg into it, sprinkle salt, black pepper powder and green chillies and let the underside cook completely.

Step 3

Remove the cookie cutter and place the egg over the cheese on the bread. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
