By Sanjeev Kapoor 07 Mar 2019 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Spinach, Split green gram skinless (dhuli moong dal) Cuisine Indian Course Dals and Kadhis Prep Time 26-30 minutes Cook time 21-25 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Dal Palak 15-20 leaves Spinach finely chopped 3/4 cup Split green gram skinless (dhuli moong dal) 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder a pinch Asafoetida 2 tablespoons Oil 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds 6-8 cloves Garlic chopped 1 inch piece Ginger chopped 2 Green chillies seeded and chopped 1 medium Onion chopped to taste Salt 1 teaspoon Lemon juice Method Cook moong dal with half the turmeric powder and asafoetida till soft. Heat oil (or ghee) in a pan. Add cumin seeds, garlic, ginger, green chillies and sauté for one minute. Add onion and continue to sauté till onion gets lightly browned. Add spinach and sauté for half a minute. Add the remaining turmeric powder and stir. Add dal and mix well. Add one cup water and salt and stir. Add lemon juice, mix and serve hot.
