Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Prep Time : 11-15 minutes

Cook time : 21-25 minutes

Ingredients for Country Captain Chicken Recipe

  • Chicken cut into pieces 1 kilogram

  • Oil 1 tablespoon

  • Onions sliced 3 large

  • Cinnamon 2 inch sticks

  • Cloves 4

  • Green cardamoms 2

  • Dry red chilies broken 2

  • Black peppercorns 6-8

  • Garlic paste 2 tablespoons

  • Red chilli powder 2 teaspoons

  • Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a non stick pan. Add onions, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, red chillies and peppercorns and sauté lightly.

Step 2

Add the chicken, garlic paste and sauté on medium heat for 5 minutes.

Step 3

Add the red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt. Mix well and cook for a few minutes.

Step 4

Add ½ cup water and cook till the chicken is tender and the gravy is quite thick.

Step 5

Serve hot.
