Corn was indigenous to America, but is now grown throughout the world. It is used as a vegetable, briefly boiled or roasted or eaten with butter. And it would also interest you to know that the favourite popcorn, made by popping the small corn kernels, is a wholesome cereal food and is easily digested. Besides this, corn sees its use in various other ways – salads, soups, subzis and even sweets too!

Ingredients for Corn Potato Tikki - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Corn kernels boiled and mashed 3/4 cup

  • Medium potatoes boiled, peeled and grated 2

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 1 tablespo for garnish

  • Green chillies chopped 1-2

  • Garam masala powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Lemon juice 1 teaspoon

  • Oil to grill

  • Tomato ketchup to serve

Method

Step 1

Mix together potatoes, corn, coriander leaves, green chillies, garam masala powder, salt and lemon juice in a bowl.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape into tikkis.

Step 3

Heat some oil in a non-stick grill pan. Place the tikkis on it and grill, turning sides, till evenly done on both the sides. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 4

Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
