Ingredients list for Clay Pot Chicken - SK Khazana

  • 750 grams Chicken cut into 2 inch pieces on the bone
  • 4 medium Onions quartered
  • 2 medium Tomatoes quartered
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 teaspoons Red chilli powder
  • 2 teaspoons Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 Green chillies slit
  • for garnish Fresh coriander sprigs


  1. Put the onions into a mixer jar, grind to a fine paste. Put the tomatoes into another mixer jar and grind to a fine puree.
  2. Heat oil in a clay pot, add onion paste and sauté on medium heat for 3-4 minutes. Add ginger-garlic paste, mix and sauté for 1 minute. Cover and cook for 5-6 minutes more.
  3. Add tomato puree, mix well and saute for 2 minutes. Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and salt and mix well. Cover and cook till oil separates.
  4. Add green chillies and 1 cup water and mix well. Add chicken and mix well. Cover and cook on medium heat till the chicken is done.
  5. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot.
