Ingredients list for Clay Pot Chicken - SK Khazana
- 750 grams Chicken cut into 2 inch pieces on the bone
- 4 medium Onions quartered
- 2 medium Tomatoes quartered
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Ginger-garlic paste
- 2 teaspoons Red chilli powder
- 2 teaspoons Coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
- to taste Salt
- 2 Green chillies slit
- for garnish Fresh coriander sprigs
Method
- Put the onions into a mixer jar, grind to a fine paste. Put the tomatoes into another mixer jar and grind to a fine puree.
- Heat oil in a clay pot, add onion paste and sauté on medium heat for 3-4 minutes. Add ginger-garlic paste, mix and sauté for 1 minute. Cover and cook for 5-6 minutes more.
- Add tomato puree, mix well and saute for 2 minutes. Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and salt and mix well. Cover and cook till oil separates.
- Add green chillies and 1 cup water and mix well. Add chicken and mix well. Cover and cook on medium heat till the chicken is done.
- Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot.
