Ingredients
- 1 cup moong dal
- ½ cup cooking chocolate, cut into small cubes
- 2-3 tablespoons refined flour
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 egg
- 1½ tablespoons melted butter
- ¼ teaspoon green cardamom powder
- 1½ teaspoons baking powder
- 1-2 tablespoons milk
- ½ cup fresh cream
- Slivered almonds for garnish
Method
- Put moong dal in a bowl, add sufficient water and soak for 4-5 hours. Drain and blend with very little water to a thick and smooth paste.
- Transfer the paste into a large bowl, add refined flour, powdered sugar, cocoa powder and break in an egg. Add melted butter, green cardamom powder and baking powder and mix well.
- Add milk to adjust the consistency. Let the batter rest for 2-3 minutes.
- Heat a non-stick tawa.
- To make chocolate ganache, heat a small non-stick pan, add fresh cream and cook till it is about to come to a boil.
- Grease the tawa with melted butter and pour ladlesful of batter to make 3 pancakes. Cook on low heat for 2-3 minutes, flip and cook for 4-5 minutes.
- Take chocolate cubes in another bowl, add the hot cream and leave it for 2 minutes. Whisk well till all the chocolate melts and mixes with the cream.
- For serving, place pancakes on top of each other, drizzle the prepared ganache over them, garnish with almond slivers and serve warm.
