Ingredients for Chocolate Moong Dal Pancakes - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Moong dal 1 cup

  • Cooking chocolate cut into small cubes 1/2 cup

  • Refined flour 2-3 tablespoons

  • Powdered sugar 2 tablespoons

  • Cocoa powder 2 tablespoons

  • Egg 1

  • Melted butter 1 1/2 tabl

  • Green cardamom powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Baking powder 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • Milk 1-2 tablespoons

  • Fresh cream 1/2 cup

  • Slivered almonds for garnish

Method

Step 1

Put moong dal in a bowl, add sufficient water and soak for 4-5 hours. Drain and blend with very little water to a thick and smooth paste.

Step 2

Transfer the paste into a large bowl, add refined flour, powdered sugar, cocoa powder and break in an egg. Add melted butter, green cardamom powder and baking powder and mix well.

Step 3

Add milk to adjust the consistency. Let the batter rest for 2-3 minutes.

Step 4

Heat a non-stick tawa.

Step 5

To make chocolate ganache, heat a small non-stick pan, add fresh cream and cook till it is about to come to a boil.

Step 6

Grease the tawa with melted butter and pour ladlesful of batter to make 3 pancakes. Cook on low heat for 2-3 minutes, flip and cook for 4-5 minutes.

Step 7

Take chocolate cubes in another bowl, add the hot cream and leave it for 2 minutes. Whisk well till all the chocolate melts and mixes with the cream.

Step 8

For serving, place pancakes on top of each other, drizzle the prepared ganache over the, garnish with almond slivers and serve warm.
