Ingredients list for Chilli Chicken - SK Khazana
- 250 grams Boneless chicken cut into 1 inch cubes
- 1-2 Green chillies finely chopped
- 1-2 Green chillies slit
- to taste Salt
- to taste Black pepper powder
- 1 Egg
- 1 tablespoon Cornflour
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Refined flour (maida)
- 1 tablespo to deep fry Oil
- 4-5 cloves Garlic finely chopped
- 1 Medium onion cut into cubes and layers separated
- 1 Medium green capsicum cut into square pieces
- 1/2 cup Chicken stock
- 2 tablespoon Soy sauce
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Cornflour slurry
- 1 tablespoon Red chilli sauce
- 1 teaspoon Vinegar
- 1 stalks Spring onion greens diagonally sliced
Method
- Take chicken cubes in a bowl, add salt, pepper powder, egg, 1 tablespoon cornflour and refined flour and mix.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Gently slide in the chicken cubes and deep-fry till crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- To make the sauce, heat 1 tablespoon oil in a non-stick pan. Add garlic, chopped green chillies, slit green chilles, onion, capsicum and salt, mix and sauté for a few seconds.
- Add chicken stock, soy sauce and fried chicken pieces, mix well and bring to a boil.
- Mix together remaining cornflour and remaining stock in a bowl to make slurry. Add this to the sauce, mix and cook till the sauce thickens.
- Add chilli sauce and vinegar and mix well.
- Transfer into a serving dish, garnish with spring onion greens and serve hot.
