Ingredients list for Chicken with Banana Flower - SK Khazana
- 200 grams Boneless chicken cut into cubes
- 1 1/2 cups Banana flower chopped and soaked in water with salt and turmeric
- 2 tablespoons Mustard oil
- 1 Medium onion chopped
- 2 teaspoons Ginger-garlic paste
- 2 Bay leaves
- 2 Dried red chillies
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder
- to taste Salt
- to taste Black pepper powder
- to garnish Fresh coriander sprigs
- to garnish Steamed riceq
Method
- Drain the banana flower, squeeze excess water and put into a bowl.
- Heat mustard oil in a deep non-stick pan, add onion, ginger-garlic paste, bay leaves and broken red chillies. Mix and sauté till the mixture is browned and fragrant.
- Add turmeric powder and chicken, mix well and sauté for a minute. Add cumin powder and salt, mix well and sauté on low heat for 10 minutes or till chicken gets cooked.
- Add banana flower and mix well, cover and cook for 10 minutes on medium heat. Add black pepper and add little water and mix well. Cover and cook for 5-7 minutes on medium heat. Switch off heat.
- Transfer into a serving plate and serve hot, garnished with coriander sprigs with steamed rice.
