Ingredients list for Cheesy Paneer Bread

  • ¼ cup Cheddar cheese grated
  • ¼ cup Mozzarella cheese grated
  • 200 grams Paneer (cottage cheese) cut into 2 inch slices
  • 8 White bread slices
  • for deep-frying Oil
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Red chilli flakes
  • 3-4 Olives pitted, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic chopped
  • 1 Pickled jalapenos finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons coriander leaves chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Crushed black peppercorns
  • 3-4 tablespoons Refined flour (maida)
  • for coating Bread crumbs panko

Method

  1. Heat sufficient oil in a pan.
  2. Take onion in a bowl. Add chilli flakes, black olives, garlic, jalapenos, coriander leaves, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, salt and crushed peppercorns and mix well.
  3. Trim off the edges of bread slices and roll them out using a rolling pin
  4. Place one cottage cheese slice in the center of 4 bread slices. Put some cheese mixture on top, apply some water on the edges and cover with remaining bread slices. Cut into triangles.
  5. Take flour in another bowl. Add some water and mix to make smooth slurry.
  6. Spread bread crumbs on a plate.
  7. Dip each bread triangle in slurry and coat with breadcrumbs.
  8. Deep-fry bread triangles in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  9. Serve hot.
