Batatachi Sookhi Bhaji

Ingredients 

  • 6-7 medium potatoes,,boiled and cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 Sprig of curry leaves
  • 2 tablespoons split black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal)
  • 2 whole dry red chillies
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup scraped coconut
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves

Method

  1. Heat oil kadai. Add mustard seeds let them crackle. Add curry leaves and urad dal and sauté till dal turns light brown. Break whole red chillies into two or three pieces and add.
  2. Add turmeric powder stir well, then add potato cubes and salt. Stir well and cook for five minutes on low heat. Add scraped coconut and stir with light hand. Remove from heat. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
