Ingredients list for Baked Falafel
- 1 cup Chickpeas soaked overnight
- 3-4 Parsley chopped
- 2 stalks Spring onion greens chopped
- 4 tablespoons Fresh parsley chopped
- 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped
- 1/2 cup Bread crumbs dried
- 1 teaspoon Garlic chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon Roasted cumin powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Crushed peppercorns
- to taste Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
- 2 teaspoons Lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons Oil to brush
Method
- Drain and coarsely grind chickpeas with little water. Transfer into a bowl.
- Add spring onion bulbs, spring onion greens, parsley, coriander leaves, breadcrumbs, garlic, red chilli powder, cumin powder, crushed peppercorns and salt and mix well.
- Add baking soda and lemon juice and mix well. Shape the mixture into even sized small tikkis and arrange them on a greased baking tray.
- Brush them with a little oil and bake them in the oven at 180° C for 25 minutes. Serve hot.
