By Sanjeev Kapoor 14 Aug 2020 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Medium prawns, Salt Cuisine Maharashtrian Course Pickles, Jams and Chutneys Prep Time 21-25 minutes Cook time 26-30 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Thecha Prawns - SK Khazana 25 Medium prawns shelled, deveined, washed and patted dry to taste Salt 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1 1/2 tablespoons Oil Thecha 20-25 Light green chillies 20-25 Garlic cloves peeled 2 tablespoons Oil 2 teaspoons Cumin seeds 1/2 cup Raw peanuts to taste Salt Method Remove the stems of the green chillies and chop them roughly. To make thecha, heat 2 tbsps oil in a kadai, add cumin seeds and saute till their colour changes. Add garlic, mix and sauté for 2 minutes. Add peanuts, mix and sauté for 3-4 minutes or till golden brown. Add green chillies, mix well and sauté for 3-4 minutes. Add salt and mix well. Take it off the heat. Transfer the mixture into a mortar and pound with the pestle to a coarse paste. Take prawns in another bowl, add salt and turmeric powder, mix well and set aside for 10 minutes. Heat 1½ tbsps oil in the same kadai, add the thecha and sauté for 1 minute. Add prawns, mix well and saute till the prawns are cooked.
