Middle Eastern cuisine comprises of food eaten by the people of the various countries of the Middle East. The cuisine of the region is diverse while having a degree of homogeneity.  Some commonly used ingredients include olives and olive oil, pitas, honey, sesame seeds, dates, sumac, chickpeas, mint and parsley.

Ingredients for Tabbouleh Verde Recipe

  • Burghul 1 1/2 cups

  • Parsley chopped 2

  • Spring onions with greens chopped 6

  • Parsley chopped 3 tablespoons

  • Lemon juice 1 tablespoon

  • Garlic flavoured olive oil 2 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • White pepper powder to taste


Step 1

Place the bulgur wheat in a heatproof bowl and pour four cups of boiling water over it.

Step 2

Set aside until the bulgur absorbs the water and becomes tender.

Step 3

In a bowl mix together cucumber, spring onion, parsley, lemon juice, garlic flavored olive oil, salt and white pepper powder.

Step 4

Add the bulgur wheat and mix well. Serve cold
