Stir Fried Broccoli And Tofu With Cracked Pepper

Broccoli and tofu stir fried together with cracked pepper, ginger, garlic and celery. Serve this on it's own. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe.

Ingredients 

  • 1 small broccoli, separated into florets
  • 200 grams tofu, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
  • 8-10 black peppercorns, crushed
  • 2-3 spring onions with greens
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 inch ginger piece, chopped
  • 3-4 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 stalk celery, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon castor sugar (caster sugar)
  • A  pinch of MSG
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Method

  1. Trim and chop spring onions along with the greens. Keep aside the greens for garnish. Heat sufficient water in a pan.
  2. Add salt and blanch broccoli florets in it. Drain. Heat oil in a wok. Add chopped ginger, garlic, celery and sauté. Add sliced spring onions and stir. Stir in soy sauce, tofu, sugar and salt.
  3. Mix well. Add blanched broccoli and mix. Add a pinch of MSG, lemon juice, crushed peppercorns and mix well. Garnish with spring onion greens, stir and serve hot.
