Ingredients for Sausage Stuffed Chillies Recipe

  • Sausages 16

  • Bhavnagri green chillies 8

  • Oil 3 tablespoons

  • Onion chopped 1 medium

  • Ginger chopped 1 inch

  • Garlic cloves chopped 4-5

  • Roasted peanuts 1/4 cup

  • Fresh basil leaves 8-10

  • Fresh red chilli 1

  • Honey 1 teaspoon

  • Lemon 1

  • Dark soy sauce 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

Method

Step 1

Give a small slit on the chillies on one side and roast them on direct flame till lightly charred. You can also roast them in a pan or in a preheated oven.

Step 2

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a non stick pan, add onion, ginger and garlic and saute till fragrant. Transfer into a bowl.

Step 3

Heat 2 tbsps oil in the same pan, add sausages and saute till they get lightly burnt.

Step 4

Dip the chillies in cold water and peel them. Slit one side almost completely and remove seeds.

Step 5

Crush peanuts, basil leaves, red chilli, sausages, coarsely in a chopper and put into a bowl. Add dark soy sauce, honey, juice of 1 lemon and mix well. Add a pinch of salt and mix.

Step 6

Stuff this mixture into the chillies and serve at room temperature. You can even chill them before serving.
