Ingredients list for Saijan Phalli Tadkewali

  • 6 Drumsticks peeled and cut into 3 inch pieces
  • 3/4 teaspoon Scraped fresh coconut
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Coriander seeds
  • 4 Dried red chillies
  • 12-15 Curry leaves
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried mango powder (amchur)
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 cup Scraped fresh coconut

Method

  1. Heat 2½ cups water with ½ tsp turmeric powder and a little salt in a deep non-stick pan. Add drumsticks, cover and cook for 10-15 minutes or till the drumsticks are cooked. Strain and keep aside in a bowl.
  2. Heat oil in another non-stick pan. Add coriander seeds and red chillies and sauté for half a minute.
  3. Add curry leaves, drumsticks, red chilli powder, remaining turmeric powder, black pepper powder, dried mango powder and salt and toss well.
  4. Add coconut and mix well.
  5. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
