Ingredients list for Quick Oatmeal Uttapam

  • 1 cup Oats
  • 1/2 cup Yogurt
  • a pinch Asafoetida
  • 1 cup Yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • a pinch Soda bicarbonate
  • 1 inch pie Ginger finely chopped
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • 1/4 medium Green capsicum finely chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • for cookin Oil
  • 2-3 stalks Spring onion greens trimmed

Method

  1. Grind together oats, suji and asafoetida and transfer into a bowl.
  2. Add yogurt, cumin seeds, red chilli powder, soda, ginger and water as required to make a thick batter.
  3. Keep aside for 10-15 minutes. Add onion, green capsicum and salt and mix well.
  4. Heat a non stick tawa. Spread a little oil with a tissue paper.Spread a ladleful of the batter on the tawa and drizzle a little oil around it.
  5. When the underside is golden, flip and cook on the other side similarly.
  6. Arrange spring onion greens on a serving plate and transfer the uttapams on it. Serve hot.
