You should always stack your fridge with at least a dozen of them. Why? Handiest food to have around! Kids are hungry? Make some egg sandwiches. Guests come in, make an egg curry or egg biryani. You are hungry? Poach an egg and have it topped with stir fried veggies – perfect protein source for the body! Check the freshness – keep a raw egg in a bowl of water. Fresh eggs will stay at the bottom while stale eggs stand on end or float.

Ingredients for Pickled Eggs Recipe

  • Eggs hard boiled and shelled 16

  • Vinegar 1/2 cup

  • Ginger cut into juliennes 2 inch piece

  • All spice powder 2 teaspoons

  • Salt 1 teaspoon

  • Black peppercorns 3 teaspoons


Step 1

Place the shelled eggs in a glass jar. Heat one cup water in a non-stick pan.

Step 2

Add black peppercorns, ginger, all spice powder, salt and vinegar and boil it for ten minutes.

Step 3

Pour the boiling water on the eggs and cover when cold.

Step 4

Cover and keep it for two days before using it
