Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Peri Peri Chicken Recipe

  • Chicken legs 500 grams

  • Olive oil 1 teaspoon + ¼ cup + 3 tablespoons

  • Fresh red chillies 5-6

  • Garlic cloves 6-8

  • Onion 1 medium

  • Fresh parsley sprigs 2-3

  • Fresh oregano sprigs 2-3

  • Paprika powder 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Red wine vinegar 1 tablespoon

  • Lemon juice 2 tablespoons

  • Crushed black peppercorns 1 teaspoon

  • French fries to serve

  • Butter 1 tablespoon

  • Steamed corn on the cob to serve


Step 1

Preheat oven to 180º C.

Step 2

Heat 1 teaspoon olive oil in a non-stick pan, add chillies and garlic.

Step 3

Roughly chop onion and add to the pan and cook for 4-5 minutes. Take it on a plate and cool.

Step 4

Grind the prepared chilli mixture, parsley, oregano, paprika powder, salt, red wine vinegar, lemon juice, crushed peppercorns, 3 tablespoons olive oil to a smooth paste.

Step 5

Make incisions on the chicken, add the ground paste and rub the spices over chicken. Keep in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours.

Step 6

Place the marinated chicken on a baking tray, put the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15-18 minutes.

Step 7

Place French fries on a serving plate.

Step 8

Heat butter in a non-stick pan, place corn on the cob and sauté till brown and done.

Step 9

Place peri peri chicken in the centre of the plate, place sautéed corn on the cob on other side and serve immediately.
