Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Pepper Chilli Chicken With Honey Recipe

  • Boneless Chicken 1 inch cubes 500 grams

  • Egg 2 tablespoons

  • Egg 1

  • Cornflour/ corn starch 1/2 cup

  • Oil 1 tablespoon

  • Red chillies 4-6

  • Vinegar 1 tablespoon

  • Garlic chopped 7-8 cloves

  • Spring onions chopped 3

  • Green chillies chopped 2

  • MSG a pinch

  • Sugar 1 teaspoon

  • Black pepper powder 1 teaspoon

  • Honey 2 tablespoons

  • Capsicum deseed and julienne 2 medium

  • Sesame seeds (black) roasted 2 teaspoons

Method

Step 1

Marinate the chicken cubes in a mixture of one tablespoon soya sauce, salt, egg and one tablespoon cornstarch for ten minutes.

Step 2

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep fry chicken in hot oil till light brown. Drain onto an absorbent paper and keep aside. Grind red chillies with vinegar. Keep aside. Heat one tablespoon oil in a wok. Add garlic, spring onions and green chillies and stir fry for a few seconds.

Step 3

Add remaining soya sauce and mix. Add MSG, sugar, pepper powder and prepared red chilli paste. Add one cup of water and stir. Add fried chicken pieces and mix well. Add remaining cornstarch, after dissolving it in water. Stir in honey. Add capsicum julienne and mix.

Step 4

Sprinkle roasted sesame seeds and serve hot with your choice of rice or noodle dish.
