Ingredients for Paneer Chilli Puffs-SK Khazana Recipe

  • Cottage cheese (paneer) cut into small cubes 100 grams

  • Green chillies diagonally sliced 2

  • Medium green capsicum cut into medium square pieces 1

  • Puff pastry douh 250 grams

  • Oil 1 tablespo for greasing

  • Medium onion cut into small cubes 1

  • Garlic finely chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Soy sauce 1 tablespoon

  • Vegetable stock 1 cup

  • Cornflour slurry 1 tablespoon

  • Black peppercorns crushed to taste

  • Salt to taste

  • Spring onion greens finely chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Butter for brushi

  • White sesame seeds (safed til) to sprinkle


Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add onion and sauté till translucent. Add garlic and mix.

Step 2

Add green chillies and capsicum, mix and saute for a minute. Add soy sauce, mix well and cook for a minute.

Step 3

Add vegetable stock and cornflour slurry, mix well and bring to a boil. Add crushed peppercorns and salt and mix.

Step 4

Add cottage cheese, mix well and cook till the mixture thickens. Add spring onion greens and mix well. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 5

Preheat oven to 180º C. Grease a baking tray with some oil.

Step 6

Dust the worktop with some dry flour and roll out puff pastry dough into a large sheet. Trim the edges to make a neat square. Further cut into 4 equal squares.

Step 7

Place a spoonful of cottage cheese mixture in the centre of each square, bring the four corners to the centre and seal to make square puffs.

Step 8

Place the puffs on the greased tray, brush them with some butter and sprinkle some sesame seeds on top.

Step 9

Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.

Step 10

Serve hot with sweet chilli sauce.
